BSNL ADSL connection in PCLInuxOS and Ubuntu ..

I’m back to bhubaneswar and I’ve almost overcome my nocturnal addiction.

Thanks to buggy Ortel (my ISP) my download limit has become infinity ..cheers !!

At Paradip I had a tiny weeny discussion with my father about PCLinuxOS and Ubuntu.
Though I’m fan PCLinuxOS and my father is more into Ubuntu.HE uses a triple boot system with XP,PClinux and Ubuntu.

We discussed about KDE and GNOME ..but the prime concern for my father was that PCLinuxOS had a hard time setting up an ADSL Internet connection using an ethernet PPPoE modem provided by BSNL.But, Ubuntu didn’t have any such problem.

He used to reconfigure the internet connection time and again. Sometimes the distro won’t boot if the modem will not be on (provided connect at boot was checked hile setting up the connection).

Any way the problem is solved now by checking the manage by user option.
